This position is part of a team that is being funded by a federal grant to increase the adoption and use of broadband internet services in rural areas to help communities develop and grow economically.
As the lead communicator on the Sustainable Broadband Adoption (SBA) grant to expand outreach and education about broadband, this position will have two main purposes:
1. Develop a one-stop website portal of resources for the people who are partners and stakeholders of the grant and set the groundwork for a statewide resource.
2. Develop communication strategies, implement tactics, and advise broadband coordinators in five demonstration communities to meet two overall goals:
a. Educate community members and groups so they understand broadband benefits and how it can improve lives, expand educational, cultural and economic opportunities, and benefit communities.
b. Increase number of internet subscribers in rural areas where broadband access and opportunities have historically been lacking.
