Assistant Vice President for Communications

Bradley University is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Vice President for Communications.

Bradley University is a distinctive, medium-size, comprehensive private institution of higher learning. The University is located on an 85-acre campus in Peoria, the largest metropolitan area in central Illinois. This position will be responsible for researching, writing and editing speeches for top-level administrators, supervising communications staff members, and serving as the University spokesperson. This position is responsible for helping develop and implement the University’s strategic communications initiatives, including messaging, internal and external publications, public relations, and national media contacts, to enhance the University’s positive image and promote Bradley across the country as a university of national distinction, and other duties as assigned.

A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree is preferred. The successful candidate must possess a high degree of personal integrity and ethics, ability to work with sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate respect and sensitivity for cultural differences. Candidates also must possess exceptional writing skills; strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work on multiple projects within highly structured deadlines; ability to work well within a team environment and have an understanding of higher education. Five or more years of communications and writing experience in a professional setting are preferred. Experience in higher education is an asset.
